How did my adventure with manga begun?

When my cousin was getting me into anime at some point, she also started to buy manga. When I was at her house she would let me read manga, that's how I started reading Ao haru ride for example. I also read one volume of a lot random series, like Re:zero, Momochi-san Chi no Ayakashi Ouji and Hetalia. First time I picked up a manga by myself was when I watched Jibaku Shonen Hanako-kun and I wanted to read the manga. My first physical copy of a manga was Little Witch Academia, and I had only volume 2 and 3.

How's it going now?

Now I collect manga and read them online too, but honestly I think about abandoning manga-collecting hobby. I got really into it because of my friend but manga gets more expensive with each year and I have no idea where I would keep all of the manga series. I started to sell some of them, if I didn't like them because man are my shelves dying. I have well over 100 volumes.

Do you use MAL/anilist?

I had used MAL in the past, but I found it to be not intuitive for me. It was hard for me to look out for new anime to watch because everything on the site looked so bland, boring and serious. I also had no idea how to make friends on it. Forums are cool but when you understand them. I had hard time using the site, I didn't even found out it has forum topics and such. So it wasn't a hard deccision for me to stop using it and join anilist instead. It felt way more comfy, I didn't had a custom looking list anymore, but I had way more fun with exploring new anime and meeting new people. Now I'm a very active user of anilist that enjoys tracking their anime and manga, writing posts, joining games and I even menaged to make some anilist friends :D It's very fun to be a part of anilist. And so my MAL account stay unactive for the most of the time, once in like half a year I go there to update the list or read the forums and that's it. So I won't link it here.
